What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Sonder. is a novel game concept in many aspects. We have implemented our vision to the best of our abilities, but we feel that it is missing the voice of the players and fans of this genre (Adventure and Hard SciFi). We wanted to leave enough time, resources and passion to address feedback from our players, so Early Access was an excellent opportunity for us.
We are excited to bring our players aboard and use their input to make the game better!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“No less than a month, but since we want to leave enough time to be able to incorporate player feedback into the game - it may be up to 6 (six) months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on taking our player feedback seriously, so we are not really sure where the road to completion will take us.
However, we hope that by the time we exit Early Access, we would support as many branching story-paths as possible, we would iron out any rough game mechanics based on player feedback, and make the story richer and more replayable.
We are also planning to have localized versions of the game, to make it easier for non-native English speakers.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is in a stable, fully playable state.
There are some rough edges here and there - but it is already illustrative of the unique gameplay style we are going for. There are multiple story-branches that abruptly end as they have not been fully fleshed out, but there is more than enough to sink your teeth in.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Joining us on Early Access means you will get a discount on the full game price - which is only fair as you are helping us finish the game with your feedback and support.
When we exit Early Access, the game price will increase to the full priced game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback from our players and fans is the primary reason why we have entered Early Access. We will read every single word of feedback that we receive, in any way, shape or form.
Give us your feedback on anything: basic game mechanics, story, characters, graphics, usability, sound & music, replayability, non-linearity - and anything else you can think of. We are planning regular updates, as well as forums and discussions about the game all the way until final release.”

“Thanks to some kind of divine providence, I was able to overcome incredible adversity during my contract on Cassandra-11.”

About This Game

Sonder. is a SciFi third-person Mystery Adventure game unlike anything you have ever played before. It is an interactive nonlinear time loop where you are in total control of space, time and the lives of everyone in it.

You are given a section of time to analyze - you can observe from the sidelines as the same mistakes are being made over and over again, or you can take control of any character, at any time and experience events from that character's unique perspective. Then you may guide them to the choices that will ultimately lead them to salvation - or bring them to their doom.

Time marches forward mercilessly for the characters, but for you it is merely a resource. You can restart the time loop at any time, as many times as you wish. You can rewind to any past point within the loop and attempt to change what happens from that point onward.

The only place where information can survive from one loop to the next - is in your head!
The characters in the story have no recollection of events in previous loops. Each time you restart the loop, or rewind time - they have to re-learn what they previously knew. It will be up to you to make them find the information (that only you know is out there) quicker and do something with it.

As you get more and more familiar with the story and the character's roles in it - a deeper mystery will become apparent. How much will you manage to unravel in the first episode?

Features:

  • True non-linearity (all your choices, however small, influence the story)
  • Control any character, switch on-the-fly
  • Rich and unpredictable dialog interactions
  • Completely simulated spaceship operations (operate machinery to influence the story)
  • Rewind any time, to any previous point in your playthrough
  • Infinite possible endings
  • Every additional re-play a chance to learn more about the story

What happens to you in this story depends on you. Each player will have a different experience, based on which character he controls and what choices he makes as that character.
